A Matchless Retirement Plan

Imagine!  A retirement rich in travel and adventure, challenge and inspiration, purpose and satisfaction!  You can find all this in a missionary service organization called RVICS (pronounced R-VICS).  Perhaps you have not been called to serve the Lord in darkest Africa or minister to a primitive tribe in the South American jungle, but see if you can picture yourself as a Roving Volunteer in Christ's Service.

RVICS is a non-donominational Christian organization for couples with a heart to serve the Lord during their retirement years.  Teams of 5 or 6 couples provide a wide variety of maintenance, service, and construction assistance to needy non-profit Christian children's homes, schools, colleges, camps, conference centers, and churches.  Each work project is 3-1/2 to 4 weeks long, scheduled in warmer climates during the winter months, and cooler locations the remainder of the year.  Members are encouraged to serve a minimum of 3 projects, or up to 8 or 9 projects a year, January through November, with a 3-to-4-week Christmas furlough.  Summer projects are scheduled for those who can serve at that time.

Couples live in their own RV's, with the project host providing parking sites with electricity, water, and sewer, free of charge.  Working hours provide generous time for recreation and relaxation.

Perhaps RVICS is just the retirement plan you have been looking for!

"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others,

faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms."       1 Peter 4:10
